A LETTER ON COMMUNITY AND GROWTH

A LETTER ON COMMUNITY AND GROWTH

From the Annual General Meeting (May 2020) What a year of growth, creativity, and connection L'Arche Saint John has experienced! Even before COVID-19, I would have written the same statement. Our community has learned new ways to connect with each other, and with our wider community. We have taken on a different initiative which may materialize through an expansion of our Community. We’ve met with Minister Dorothy Shepheard, and we’ve started a dialogue with the New Brunswick Association of Community Living (NBACL) with hopes of developing fruitful partnerships. We’ve also set up a committee on our Board of Directors that is working closely with L’Arche Canada to put together an action plan outlining the growth of our community. The mission of L'Arche Saint John depends very much on our ability to spread our message, which depends on our ability to raise the funds. I am extremely grateful for the contributions of various foundations, local businesses, organizations, sponsors and so many individual donors who have generously donated this year. I would also like to extend a sincere thank-you to the work of the Board of Directors, as well as both Brandon Lanteigne and Elizabeth (BJ) Blanchard who have worked very hard to make this year a success. I also extend thanks to the members of McKim House and Creative Connections, who live and love deeply and generously every day that they share together. And lastly, I would like to acknowledge the support, dedication, and love of the assistants, friends, and volunteers who have been essential to the well-being of L’Arche Saint John. Sincerely, Zoël Breau L'Arche Saint John Community Leader
